Our Organization

Founded in 2017 following Hurricanes Irma and Maria, the Caribbean Equine Relief Fund (CERF) is the only organization dedicated to aiding equines located in the islands of the Caribbean when a major natural disaster strikes. CERF steps in when the impact on humans is so great that equines are in danger of severe neglect.  We will support equines with feed, medicine, stable supplies, farrier tools and fencing so that their owners can focus on their own recovery without the added burden of worrying about their animals' welfare. We help all equines:   Horses, ponies, donkeys and mules.  We help high performance sport horses, trail horses, and even those tied out in the bush.  We work on our own and also in conjunction with other animal welfare organizations to share costs and leverage resources.  We also educate equine owners and promote equine disaster preparedness in the region.

We are also engaged in the improvement of equine wellbeing in the Caribbean and will work with local stakeholders to enhance the care of equines in the region.

We are a 501(c)(3) organization and registered in the State of Florida.
