Eve van den Bol
President & Co-Founder, Caribbean Equine Relief Fund, Inc.
Eve began riding as a child while living for a short while in the South of France. As a youngster, she tried vaulting and eventing but mostly competed in the hunters. Eve gave up riding when she went off to college but picked it up again in her late 30's. She first returned to the hunters, but quickly switched to polo after taking a lesson on a visit to Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic. Eve and her husband, Emile, played polo for many years before hanging up their spurs shortly after moving to Grand Cayman in 2010.
In Cayman, Eve served on the board of the Cayman Island Equestrian Federation, the national governing body for the sport, for over 8 years, four of which she held the position of President and one as Secretary General. She currently serves as the Secretary of the Caribbean Equestrian Association. Eve also served on the FEI Solidarity Committee from 2017 to 2021 and was a founder, along with Mark Samuel of the Caribbean Equine Relief Fund in 2017. Eve was honored to be chosen as a judge at the FEI's annual awards in 2019.
Eve graduated from MIT with a bachelor of science degree in Economics and holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. She spent many years working in New York City as an investment banker specializing in mergers and acquisitions, first for PaineWebber (now UBS) and then for Merrill Lynch & Co. (now Bank of America), before retiring as a Managing Director. Following retirement, she served for a number of years on the Board of Trustees of Children’s Aid & Family Services, one of the largest social service agencies in New Jersey. Eve currently serves as President of JBD Property Holdings, a California-based real estate management company specializing in multi-family housing in Marin County, and due to her love of sport, is also the Secretary General of the Cayman Islands Fencing Federation, which she is assisting in their quest to become recognized by their global governing body.
