Judith Sloan

Treasurer, Caribbean Equine Relief Fund, Inc.

Judy Sloan is a senior executive with close to 40 years of experience leading organizations through change and challenge. She has worked for many of the world’s largest service firms, most recently Deloitte, where she was a senior partner in the Firm’s Tax practice for over 22 years. 

 

A perceptive and bold leader, Judy is widely recognized for her ability to navigate complex and challenging situations, measurably optimizing the operating models between clients and service providers. Her leadership has resulted in client retention and increased team performance; one such client, a Fortune 200 Technology company, awarded Deloitte’s team, led by Judy, the Supplier Excellence of the Year award out of 14,000 vendors.  

  

Judy served as the Chief Inclusion Officer for Deloitte Tax LLP, a $4 billion business with more than 20,000 professionals in the US and India. Judy pioneered approaches that wove career advancement for these constituencies into the fabric of Deloitte’s day-to-day operations by closely coupling deployment, operations and talent development. 

As the Chief Corporate Development Officer, Judy led inorganic growth strategies for Deloitte Tax.  

 

During her time with Deloitte Judy held many global roles, from designing and executing Tax growth strategies across 150 countries to leading the Deloitte US Firm’s relationship with the Deloitte French Firm across all businesses – Audit, Consulting, Advisory and Tax. In recognition of her work, Judy was the recipient of the Deloitte CEO Recognition Award for Global Mindedness.  

 

Judy is currently the Secretary, Treasurer and an Officer of US Equestrian (USEF), the national governing body for equestrian sport in the US.  In 2020, she chaired that organization’s Nominating Committee to elect the new President. In 2019, she led the Board Strategy Refresh. She has also played a key role in the USEF's adoption of the US Center for Safe Sport policies and procedures across the close to 200,000 members of US Equestrian.  

 

Judy graduated from Georgetown University

 

A rider since a young age, Judy showed in the hunters all through high school but took a break for college and her career.  She eventually came back to the hunters, but switched to Dressage about 18 years ago after an unfortunate riding accident. She currently rides at her own Roseview Farms and competes at the Prix St. Georges/Intermediate 1 levels.
